David Welsh

Mr. Welsh is a 30-year commercial real estate veteran with a distinguished career in founding, investing and building commercial real estate assets and businesses.  He is a Founder and Managing Partner of Senlac Ridge Partners responsible for the strategic direction of the company.  Previously, he was a Founder and Partner of Normandy Real Estate Partners in 2002, a vertically integrated developer, operator and institutional investment manager with over 120 employees, which was sold to Columbia Property Trust in 2020. Under Mr. Welsh’s leadership, Normandy, through a series of discretionary commingled funds and separate accounts, executed over 100 real estate transactions representing over $3 billion of equity capital on behalf of global institutional investors, and acquired, financed and developed a diverse mix of commercial and residential assets comprising over 38 million square feet.  Prior to forming Normandy, Mr. Welsh worked at Morgan Stanley, where he was primarily responsible for overseeing the debt financing activities for Morgan Stanley’s domestic real estate investing business. Prior to that, he worked for Gale & Wentworth a full-service real estate management and development firm, where he directed acquisitions. He has broad expertise in all facets of real estate, with particular expertise in capital markets, structured finance, distressed debt, acquisitions and development. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Pennsylvania State University and a member of its Real Estate Advisory Board, he earned a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance at the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, where he is a past member of the Advisory Board and was an adjunct professor. He devotes time to a number of professional and civic activities, including serving on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations.
